Ultimate Warrior - tribute by Simon-Williams-Art Ultimate Warrior - tribute by Simon-Williams-Art
I wanted to do a tribute to the legendary Ultimate Warrior, who sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 54. I was seriously gutted this sad news, especially after this memorable weekend where he gave two fantastic speeches on both the Hall of Fame and RAW. Shocked beyond belief, and I'm saddened and stunned. This guy was one of my heroes.

In his very last appearance, which was Monday on Raw, the Warrior said these ironic words, which I feel can apply to many aspects in life... and not just wrestling:

"No WWE talent becomes a legend on their own. Every man’s heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe their final breath. And if what that man did in his life what makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them bleed deeper and something larger than life then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized. By the story tellers, by the loyalty, by the memory of those who honor him and make the running the man did live forever. You, you, you, you, you, you are the legend makers of Ultimate Warrior. In the back I see many potential legends. Some of them with warrior spirits. And you will do the same for them. You will decide if they lived with the passion and intensity. So much so that you will tell your stories and you will make them legends, as well. I am The Ultimate Warrior. You are the Ultimate Warrior fans and the spirit of Ultimate Warrior will run forever."

This is a quick drawing (I'm hopelessly out of practice with my digital inking) dedicated to the Warrior... who has given me and millions of others countless hours of entertainment and enjoyment throughout the years. God bless and my thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.

God bless Warrior. Always believe.

Updated: The Warrior is now pointing to his new destination... the great squared circle in the sky. Updated the hand as I wasn't happy with it, and feel that this seems more appropriate.

Such powerful words, makes you wonder if he knew that he'd die the very day he said them. I recall his days in the WWF in the 80s and thought he was a great guy. RIP in that square ring in the afterlife.

I knew this guy from Linkara and Spoony, even though they hated his comic. He seemed both badass and hilarious. I'm gonna miss this guy ;-;
